Oh this won't stay. The customers would rebel. At present they know it's needed.

Is this so that people arnt “bumping” into each other and compromising the 6ft gap?
Also is bakery/deli hours changed?

Ye’, it was already in place in smaller stores with narrower aisles, but now seems to be getting rolled out to stores with larger aisles (ours are 7-8 feet wide). Instor e delis are closed, but pizza counters and bakeries are still open.
Supermarkets have agreed to only open 8am til 8pm (8-9am Monday, Wednesday and Friday for elderly and NHS staff).

It's sweet levened bread with malt extract as it's primary ingredient. It's a little chewy, nice topped with butter and some jam.

Interesting how we are handling things differently, we have deli and bakery but both on skeleton crews(more so for bakery) and now everything is prepackaged. Weve got tape all over the floor and sidewalk but only to facilitate 6ft distances in line
Our open hours are slightly less with 7-8am reserved for the elderly. So far management hasn’t been giving me any grief for leaving asap once the groceries are thrown, doing primarily 6hr days.

As night shift we get two hours before the store opens to get up to £30 of shopping at a time between 6-8am. So that’s good. Pizzas and bread are wrapped so can be set on a counter for the customer to pick up.
Delis closed to use staff elsewhere.

I was mostly kidding. The name mostly gives it away.
Honestly, seeing your picture made me a little sad that my family summer vacation is toast. We were flying into London, then over to Italy for a Mediterranean cruise. Yeah, not so much.
I need to go out and get some Fullers ESB tomorrow to drown my sorrow.

Have suppliers given you order limits yet? We are being told to order under a certain number(about 1/2 of what's needed), also things are showing up on the wrong day pretty regularly

No, suppliers are trying to get stuff to us as quick as they can, we chosen to reduce some of our range. I’m filling up milk now, we only have 2, 4 and 6 pint semi skimmed and whole milk. Usually there is yellow top, skimmed red top, purple 1 percent milk, etc... a sea of different coloured tops but at present just green and blue.
Our back up.

For the average Australian...they would have to be bigger, brightly coloured, well lighted and occupied by a man with a large timber stick handing out $50 notes before anyone would take any notice....

Yep, that is for sure. We got our money back on the cruise, but I’m still in several thousand dollars for airfare (that is what four kids will do for you). Right now all that the airlines are offering is to rebook and use the funds at a later date.

What? That’s not right, how is that legal?
Do you have travel insurance that covers cancellations?

I have travel insurance, but travel will have to be legally restricted for my dates of travel to get my money back. I think the same for United to refund my money. Right now they aren’t giving refunds for travel in late June.
